Jaipur Dialing Instructions
To make an international telephone call to Jaipur, India from any country worldwide, please follow the dialing procedure shown below.
Please note that India landline and mobile phones are on different numbering systems. The key difference is that landline numbers require an area code while mobile numbers do not. This can create some confusion. It also means the dialing steps are somewhat different depending on whether you are dialing a Jaipur landline phone or dialing a Jaipur mobile phone.

Steps to Dial Jaipur, India from Any Country
Follow this basic dialing procedure to place an international long-distance call from any country worldwide to a landline or mobile phone number in Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The procedure outlined below is applicable to direct international dialing from a landline or mobile phone in the home or office. Dialing procedures may differ when using a calling card or a VoIP internet calling service.
1. Dial international access code / IDD: ddd
Dial your country's international access code (aka IDD) to initiate a phone call to Jaipur.
Note that some mobile operators do not require dialing an IDD for certain calls and/or allow use of substitute characters (such as '+') in lieu of dialing an IDD. As well, in many cases you don't dial an IDD when using a calling card or VoIP service.

Landline and mobile phone numbers are slightly different in Jaipur, as elsewhere in India. All India numbers are 10-digits, but landline numbers are 7-digits and require a separate 3-digit area code. Mobile numbers are 10-digits and do not require the area code. All mobile numbers start with a '9'.
If you have a 10-digit phone number, then you are ready to continue dialing. If your number doesn't have 10-digits, you may need to add on the Jaipur area code.

5. If calling a Jaipur landline phone number...
a. Dial the 3-digit Jaipur area code: 141
Jaipur proper has only one area code. Other Jaipur area codes.
b. Dial a 7-digit local subscriber number: nnn nnnn
All landline phones in Jaipur proper have a 7-digit local subscriber number.
6. If calling a Jaipur mobile phone number...
Simply dial the 10-digit mobile number: 9x nnn nnnnn
All mobile phones in Jaipur have 10-digits. Any phone number starting with a '9x' is a mobile phone. Some numbers starting with '8x' are also mobile numbers. No area code should be dialed.
